Iron Tide Motorsports was born from a lifelong passion for cars, racing, and adventure—a passion passed down through family and carried across generations.
Raised in Yorba Linda, California, founder Michael Wallstrom grew up surrounded by automotive influences from both his father and stepfather, Dave. While both helped shape his love for cars, Dave left the biggest mark. From his garage in Huntington Beach to a fleet that once reached eleven vehicles, Dave lived and breathed car culture. He competed in the legendary Barstow to Vegas race during the 1970s, regularly took his cars to the drag strip, and inspired a lifelong appreciation for racing, wrenching, and the freedom that comes with life behind the wheel.
Before Dave passed away, he left Michael his prized 1969 AMC AMX—one of only three vehicles remaining from his collection. That car became far more than a classic muscle car; it became the inspiration behind Iron Tide Motorsports and a reminder that some legacies are meant to keep moving.
Today, Iron Tide Motorsports calls the Mississippi Gulf Coast home. What began as a passion for classic cars has grown into a journey of restoring old iron, building off-road rigs, attending car shows, chasing adventure, and eventually competing on the track. Whether it's bringing forgotten machines back to life, exploring new trails, or sharing stories from the garage, Iron Tide Motorsports is dedicated to preserving automotive heritage while creating new memories along the way.
At its core, Iron Tide Motorsports is about more than horsepower—it's about family, legacy, craftsmanship, and the stories forged every time the garage door opens.
